CAMELOT mail flyer came to me today.
“From the theater that brought you the acclaimed revivals of South Pacific, The King and I, and My Fair Lady…”
Am I supposed to be impressed because it’s playing in the same venue as other LCT revivals? I suppose they mean “Lincoln Center Theater” as an organization but then say that. If it said, “from the creative team” or “from the producers” or “from the director” or something involving humans, fine. I mean it is Bartlett Sher again so that would be totally legitimate. But it reads like I’m supposed to care what venue it’s playing in. And that this production would be equally pleasurable as those shows for that reason alone.
FWIW - the Vivian Beaumont is not my favorite. |
