| The Vegas setting, while sometimes visually stunning, made no sense and the story was not well told. The current production tells the story clearly and, for me, is a much more visually satisfying experience. | |

| The current production tells the story clearly Except for that ridiculous "dream sequence" near the end. And Gilda's abduction is pretty odd too. And for all the fuss about it being set in 1920's Germany, I don't see any of that. The story would have been a lot clearer if set in Mantua. And it's so dark and drab, in ways it didn't have to be. At least the Vegas production was colorful and more exciting visually in general. I can't say this production has much to watch at all. |
