What a lovely evening, Laura. Sounds like it was just about perfect for a first night out in a while.

I had no idea that there was a Feinstein’s in The Valley, or anywhere else in LA, for that matter. Shows how often I get there anymore, after living in Sherman Oaks for several years.

Sounds wonderful. Going to live performances is so life-affirming. It was difficult without it....and I hope that no matter how covid spikes, we continue to find ways to keep theatre and nightclubs open. Speaking of Feinsteins, I notice exactly one year ago tonight, I was at 54 Below (which Feinstein still owned then) and saw a wonderful Michael Feinstein Salute to Judy Garland's 100th birthday show. All around the district shows were covid-cancelled. But 54 Below ent on, and it was so emotionally important to me to be at a real live performance leading into Christmas week. Things are somewhat better this year, and I'm glad you had a wonderful show with Melissa last night.

It was. I felt like Mole in THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, blinking at sunlight.

Alas, though, the New Year’s Eve event will be the last at Feinstein’s at Vitello’s. The upstairs nightclub portion will be turned into a Vegas style lounge, without scheduled big name performers (though who know who might come in to jam?), but a “guy playing piano.” Certain irony there, as that’s exactly how Feinstein got started in the seventies, playing piano in various LA venues.

I'm so sorry to hear this club is closing, that makes three cabarets down this year in L.A. I am not a big fan of Catalina's which I guess is the only venue still open? Rockwell, Feinsteins and Upstairs at the Federal. BTW I was at Feinstein's last week for Liz Callaway and Brandon was our waiter. He did a great job. I forgot about Ms. Errico, I did want to see her. Glad to hear it was a terrific show.

I was tempted by the Callaway, but it wasn’t in the budget.

There are still a few seats for Errico tonight, if you get there by 7:30.
