I think one of the fundamental attributes of "great Broadway composer" is that they aimed several productions at Broadway from the very beginning, and that several of them also arrived there.
In the spirit of the season, I will refrain from discussing quality of music--or lyrics. (The latter, of course, are not Lloyd Webber's, but since he chooses his lyricists he's ultimately responsible for them.) |
