I just watched Lea Michele singing "I'm the Greatest Star" on the Seth Meyers show; and her gestures, although not as specific, reminded me of Liza's powerful gesture work over the years. Suddenly I longed for a "Funny Girl" starring Liza. Found this clip of her singing "Music That Makes Me Dance" from 1980. Beautiful.
Anyone have any info about Liza ever doing other "Funny Girl" songs? It seems like it would have been a great fit for her powerhouse vocals and zany, unique persona. |
