Have never seen or heard or read "Matilda" before and most reviews I read about it when it opened on Broadway and was shown on TV didn't pique my interest. I have no idea why I watched it on streaming tonight except for being a fan of Emma Thompson!!
Alish Weir as Matilda blew me away and I have to see what Lashana Lynch, as the teacher, has done because I want to see more of her. Thompson as always was excellent. The kids were impressive and on first hearing I liked the score. |
