Are Broadway cast jackets still a thing?

100 years ago (re: the 90s) I had a slew of friends in the Les Mis national tour and for Christmas they got me a coveted personalized Les Mis cast jacket.

I feel like I’ve not seen those in forever. Are they still a thing on Broadway or on tour?

Does anyone remember the Easter Bonnet song about cast jackets from 97-98?

No.
And if you see someone wearing one, beware.

I have a show Jacket from PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. It was bought and given to me by Judy Kaye as a gift with my initials embroidered on it. The sleeve are real leather. I got THE RINK Broadway Cares Ebay. I
t has leather sleeves and is purple. and I got another of MAMA MIA which I won from Ebay from the Touring Company. I love them.

Didn't someone ask this exact same question here about a month ago? I remember envying people with show jackets. I got so excited when I finally got one and then another. The first one is now way too small for me and the second one makes me look fatter than I am. So they're both in storage. Maybe I should sell them? Randomly, I had one for "The Simpsons" at one point. It might be in storage too.

I've won several beautiful cast jackets on ebay. Black wool with black leather sleeves and stunning embroidery.

They aren't really a thing any more. Some shows may give light jackets or vests with the show logo on the arm or front breast for a gift, but the show jackets from the 80s and 90s are pretty much a thing of the past.

I was bidding in a charity auction for a show jacket from the last SWEENEY TODD revival. The total went over $100, and I told my husband, “That’s it. I’m out.”

He said, “Shut up and keep bidding. And happy anniversary.”

I love that jacket.

Laura in LA, still relieved it didn’t go too much over $100…
