| His part is fairly small for someone with his renown and talent. I am surprised he took the part especially given that it doesn’t allow him to show his truly magnificent voice. | |

| He has two great numbers - one is fun duet with the nurse, "Teenage Dream" in act 1 and in act 2 - he smashes it with "The Shape of My Heart" - it's a role that won an Olivier Award for best supporting actor in a musical for David Bedella. | |

| there are worse gigs he can do. But i agree that it is a small part and i'm surprised he was in the show. | |

| I saw him play Billy Flynn a year ago September, the famous night of multiple reopenings on Broadway post Covid. Arguably, the two decade old Chicago revival is a less likely gig than a hot new import. He clearly likes to work. And was quite wonderful. | |

| He doesn't have to travel, gets a steady paycheck, probably enjoys the less challenging music for the time being and if he wants to take time off to do a serious role or two in opera or a concert, can get it. Good for him. This Tony Award winner has earned it. | |
