The Museum of the Moving Image has beautiful screening facilities, for anyone who's in or can get to the NYC area for this rare screening. I've seen the 1951 film version of SHOW BOAT, but never the one released in 1936. The cast includes Irene Dunne as Magnolia, Allan Jones as Gaylord Ravenal, Paul Robeson as Joe, Helen Morgan as Julie, and Hattie McDaniel as Queenie. Any opinions on it?
