| Really, we're overthinking this. The number is designed to be about the innovations Ford brought to the industry - good or bad, good and bad. Like all the other historical figures in the musical, he represents someone prominent in the public consciousness - a celebrity. I think the number shows him being lifted up by the people in his time, but we in our day can see the obvious flaws in his operation. I don't think it's any more complicated than that. |
