| Some laud and some complain about color-blind casting. The majority of famous musicals have traditionally been performed with all-White casts. Black performers have little opportunity to play major roles on Bway without color-blind casting. When I look at Bway musicals, I see musicals with almost entirely White casts and musicals with almost entirely Black casts. What musicals have both Black and White major characters? As a bonus, are there such musicals that aren’t centered on race relations? |
