I couldn't remember if Goldman made at least a brief appearance in the film or if she was cut entirely. You may know that scenes with Goldman were filmed, including the scene where she and Nesbit make love, watched by Younger Brother. At least I remember reading about this and perhaps even seeing part of the scene once. I think it may be an extra on some video release.
But, yes, Goldman is an important character in the musical. I just wish she hadn't been desexualized. Otherwise, it's OK. It's the treatment of Younger Brother and Evelyn Nesbit that bothers me most. Well, there are other things that bother me about the writing, but I won't go into them now. |
