| I have just completed a London Theater Trip. Highly recommend BEST OF ENEMIES and WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION. I expect ENEMIES will make its way to Broadway before too long. GHOST STORY 2:22 - (saw it last night- Jan 25) disappointing. Story made no sense. Be sure to sit up close to hear the actors. I am surprised reading positive reviews about last fall’s production in LA. The play’s strengths may require better acting, vocal projection and direction than what is on display at London’s Lyric Theater. BACK TO THE FUTURE - entertaining but forgettable. Glad to see it. Thought it would be more exciting. It is faithful to the film, perhaps too much so. Saw PHANTOM and LES MIZ-each brilliant in slightly revised stagings. SIX - missed a good 90% of the lyrics. Don’t go unless you know the score or have Superman hearing ability. Also caught MOTHER GOOSE and Donmar’s WATCH ON THE RHINE, which will both be gone before your visit. West End stages overflow with productions that have already been seen in NY: Hamilton Wicked Mamma Mia Tina To Kill A Mockingbird Lion King Frozen The Play That Goes Wrong Phantom Les Miz Noises Off Harry Potter Moulin Rouge Book of Mormon Jersey Boys Allegiance The new CABARET ticket prices are through the roof. |
