I expect that if British actors are working in America- be it under a Production contract, an Off-Broadway contract or a LORT contract (i.e.Broadway, Off-Broadway and Regional)- then they will get paid at least the minimums that LORT and AEA have agreed upon.

More to the point, given that AEA contracts pay far more than British Equity does, I wonder whether American actors working in London get the same rate they received in NYC or whether they take a cut in pay for the prestige of working in the West End or at the NT/RSC?

As for British actors coming over to Broadway, I think it is almost always a huge leap in salary and I would expect for many- if not all- they get accommodation thrown in for the duration of the contract.

The pay in the West End and all British theatre is remarkably low unless you are a major star. I am always shocked when I hear what they get paid, especially given the high cost of living in London.
