I work at the Performing Arts Library. First, I can confirm that The Piano Lesson was recorded for the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) last night. I can't recall another situation quite like this one, but there have been occasions when technical issues have disrupted tapings. Normally, when a scene is disrupted and performed again, the first version is discarded and replaced by the second one.
There have also been a handful of occasions when, for various reasons, producers request a second recording of an entire show to replace an earlier one. That's very rare, but it has happened. |
