“Aida” will be presented in The Netherlands, not Germany, in April, with the creative team that has been developing it for another US run. (Linked below.)
My husband was in the most recent NYC workshops, and Disney absolutely intends to bring this production to the US - either on tour or Broadway (or both).
I think “Coco” is farther off than 2 years away, I’d be surprised if we see it before 2027.
My prediction - Disney closes Aladdin in September and brings in “Hercules” to the New Amsterdam in 2024. If “Aida” makes it to Broadway, it plays at a rental house (perhaps reopening the Palace, where the original played?). |
