Christopher Gable had also been a star of the Royal Ballet, most memorably as Romeo in the full length ballet Kenneth MacMillan created on him and Lynn Seymour(Gable's frequent partner). If MacMillan had had his way, they would have also danced the premiere instead of Nureyev and Fonteyn. Gable--also gorgeous--left ballet in 1967, all of 27, and then embarked on his career as actor, most notably in the Russell films which also include "Song of Summer" for TV, in which Gable played the amanuensis to Delius(Max Adrian, creator of Dr. Pangloss in CANDIDE). |
