People were singing the praises of this production from London too... live (which I am sure is better than the broadcast), AND those who only saw it from the broadcast of it, which I saw and hated. It was embarrassingly mediocre to bad on several levels (direction, set design, choreo, even acting... even actors I love came off badly under her direction and the cameras, but I can't blame the cameras for the bad writing and direction of those first scenes).
It's always baffled me. |
