No, they say it like they believe that people are honest when they discuss their identity. You should stop speculating whether or not people are authentic, and be accepting and welcoming instead of just dismissing them?
And no, they weren't "in the closet", but seeing more people step out with that word has encouraged others to embrace their true selves, even in spite of people like you dismissing them. |
