A most thoughtful explication of why this matters, respectfully argued. Embracing a learning curve is part of this era; positively, let's call it another age of enlightenment. Traditional niche categorizations don't hold anymore. Rather than cause for reactionary umbrage and contention, the glass is beyond half full. After decades of "not being {identity x} 'enough,'" that enough a terrifying restriction, the umbrella of LGBTQIA+ invites so many into such a large and welcoming tent, it should be cause for unifying celebration. As a boomer, I've weathered the gated community aspect of sexual identity. It felt like an elitist organzation at times, with rules for membership. How wonderful that these times -- DeSantis's dark vision aside -- are so all encompassing. I say, let's stand together; shared goals define and empower a community.
