Madison leaving estate-possessed books to an underage teenage girl -- no matter the era -- just takes the backstory into other territory.
I am not a fan of Hill in his 50s, yet don't see the traveling salesman as younger than 30, though of course it's possible.
The show's ages have become so (star-dictated) flexible, it's hard to determine the ideal demographics. I did find the Bierko-Luker relationship entirely winning, with sexual heat and romantic yearning before the wooing. Having seen a handful of Hills, including the asexual Tony Randall, I'd argue that the element of palpable erotic attraction is at least story enhancing, and its total absence, a liability. |
