Whenever I watch the film I am always surprised at Swanson's youth and girlishness. In fact she maintained that quality for another thirty years: just watch her in AIRPORT1975 or her guest spot on Carol Burnett.
Probably not a good fit vocally but I've always thought Kelli O'Hara would be interesting. She's an awfully good actress.
