Beechman was below the title, so she got put into Featured. Ditto, for Bill Hutton, who played the title role of ''Joseph.''

However, if a bigger name, like Donny Osmond, had opened that revival, I'm sure he would've been boosted to Leading.

As for Montevecchi, if I recall, she had a section in ''Folies Bergere,'' where she would teasingly banter with the audience. I didn't see that ''Nine'' more than once. Did she use the same shtick all the time? If if it was spontaneous and different many nights, that might've made her stand out.

I also recall ''Forbidden Broadway'' did a hilarious parody of Montevecchi and her accent, rendering her ''Nine'' lyrics like Frenchified gibberish.
