If Phantom extends (again) I think there would be backlash - people will perceive the closing announcement as a cash grab, and I’d wager they’d see ticket sales drop off again. Sales are only strong because buyers are certain it’s their last chance to see the show. If they extend yet again, I’d personally lose interest in trying to see it again - why rush if they keep postponing the closing?
I think it’s more likely they’re bringing in a host of former cast members for the closing performance. |
