I'm not going to be able to agree with you on this. First, Sondheim is sui generis. Second this "model" was a long time ago and the landscape has shifted tremendously. Third, these were not live streams, which is the main topic as I understand it. Fourth, they were literally produced by a PBS constituent largely on the backs of donors. They were both artistic triumphs and financial flops. Finally, I am pretty certain that your proposed correlation between the filmings/tapings and a robust after life does not hold up under scrutiny.
I'm happy to be corrected on anything I said above that's not the case. |
