This is an interesting question - do the Talkin' Broadway reviewers get comp tickets? I would assume they do because there are so few published reviews that I would think theater companies would love to have reviews outside of a personal blog. Locally, I'm finding it really hard to find any non-personal-blog review for local productions. The local paper hardly reviews theater anymore. More (or any) available reviews might push me off the fence for some local shows.
I've noticed that some local productions have shorter runs than pre-pandemic, presumably due to lower ticket demand, and that may be a factor. Add in that TB reviewers aren't paid and aren't under deadline, and that I imagine it can be hard to find the time to write some of the reviews. |
