This will sound pedantic but it’s important. There isn’t such a thing as a British accent. Britain is comprised of 3 countries - . England, Scotland and Wales. Each country has a very distinct accent - Welsh, Scottish and English. I think what people mean is that she is ( or isn’t) using an English accent. Using British to refer to English raises the hackles of we Scots and I’m sure our Welsh cousins.
