| Agreed. Both “Skin” and “Sunset” productions illustrated risk taking in polar ends of the repertoire: an unlikely musical, its content and style offering limited commercial potential; and, a boldly original revival of play that often fails in traditional stagings. I saw both and in each case marveled at the imaginative theatricality - budgets well allocated to make time in the Beaumont transformational. At both, tiny matinee houses cheered the invention. |
