| A series of vignettes going back in time. First a frat party (the keg stands), then a high school dance, then a middle school dance (more tentative couple-dancing), then a kid's birthday party for the young Suzannah. Sort of a "this is how we got here" - how girls are socialized through parties to just accept being touched by men, I guess. Although the connection of a five-year-old's birthday party to a raging frat party where someone is raped, especially in such quick succession, feels...more than a little incomplete, more conceptual than really worked through. |
