Technically. LCT 3 is an end room scene, not a proscenium arch theatre. Beyond that, MY FAIR LADY has the Nederlander Company as a producing partner, also bringing money t the table (I assume also so they could tour the show and produce it in the UK, and perhaps do a Broadway Asia Toru as well). The MY FAIR LADY production ran 69 weeks. Its average weekly Adjusted Gross was $900,000. If treated as a commercial run, it would have possibly recouped its costs. Figuring in royalties it possibly netted $200,000 a week or $14 million. Even at LCT, I dont believe that this production with its cast of 33 and orchestra 29 and huge physical production, costumes etc, could have been done for less than $14 million. Likely more. |
