It matters little whether JFK loved the last song of Camelot or not. And the myth of Camelot does not really mirror America in the Kennedy years at all. But the fact is the American public came to identify those years between 1961 and 1963 as "Camelot" and idealized them beyond reality. It is at least possible too that Kennedy liked both the cynacism of How to Succeed in Business and the romanticism of Camelot. It is quite possible to like both and impossible at this point to determine what was going on in the grieving widow's mind. Myth making is a bit strong. More likely it is determination that the public shall remember her slain husband's administration for the good in it. And there was good in it.
