I get where the original poster is coming from. I will never forget when I saw 'night Mother, the ticket taker said "enjoy the show" which I thought was odd. Is it the word "enjoy" that seems inappropriate? I can't think of what else one would say. It's usually also said during the preshow announcements, "blah, blah, blah...thank you and enjoy the show". I think in that case a simple "thank you" would be more appropriate.
At some theatres I've noticed that the staff has gotten into the habit of simply smiling and saying "thank you for your support". |
