I think the only reason for the Herman estate to put out money to record this is because it includes songs that were not in the original but are now part of the licensed version. I am not expecting that to be enough for them, but maybe. We'll see.
My favorite Hello, Dolly! recording is the one with Mary Martin. Which I'm guessing sold well enough in England. I think the film soundtrack probably has sold pretty well over the years.
