| I don't know how early into the run I saw the original DANCIN' but I too very much disliked it. Alan's comments bring back a little to me from that evening so many decades ago. For all my admiration of Fosse, I do remember thinking then that he was NOT George Balanchine or Jerome Robbins. His choreography couldn't sustain a whole evening's program and requisite variety. He was(and is)brilliant in choreographing the necessary dances in a specific musical. |
