| Funnily enough, I've never been a massive fan of Someone in a Tree and found it a bit perplexing that Sondheim often stated it as his favorite of his songs -- from any show. But, I will say, seeing/hearing it in person in this production made me appreciate it a lot more. I think the musicality of these performers and, honestly, just the way their faces (in character) lit up while singing the song made it incredibly moving -- not something I expected to experience. |
