| Really, not even half of "Perfectly Marvelous" in terms of percentage of the song that he gets to sing. It's so little that they might as well have been completely consistent and cut even that so that he would be a completely nonsinging character. Not really advocating for that. I think it's a mistake for "Why Should I Wake Up?" to be cut. I can't say that I like "Don't Go" all that much, but even that would be better than nothing. But if you're not going to use either of the possible Cliff solo songs, it might at least make some sense dramatically to make him a nonsinging character. Truth is, though, that he's not just a camera, not just an observer in the musical, so he should have something major to sing. |
