It seems to me that the song is about the desire for recognition, for validation. "I am important because I witnessed this important event." There is a desperation to it. I don't think those things were played in the original production.
The song is about some other things, too, but I think in acting terms, that's what it's about. The other things the song is about can't be acted, they are too abstract. |
