| I didn't. But the recording was, for me and others I imagine, my introduction to Brooks. But having just seen him in Dear World...and many other things over the years, it strikes me he is known for a certain brand of schtick--which I like, by the way. But in Songs... he seems like such a straight man. I don't mean heterosexual so much as lacking in humor and comedy. Was his performance live as straightforward as it seems on the recording? Or did some of the Brooks-isms we now know (and some maybe love) come through live? | |
