i think his shtick has gotten broader over the years. it was less pronounced in his earlier work, Bullets over Broadway, was there but not terrible in Something Rotten and it was way over the top in The Prom, but was also due to the nature of the role.
as i stated in a post about Dear World, i noticed it, but it was definitely more low key and not as irritating to me. i think he was cast because of his penchant for that kind of role, but was keep under control. |
