Yes, it was very odd seeing Anita Gillette up there with relatively little to do when she so clearly could have played Ida much more successfully than Olympia Dukakis, despite her history of excellent performances, was able to do.
And 11 years later, Ms. Gillette was stunning and 150-percent confident in a largish role in Bruce Norris's A Parallelogram at Second Stage.
