"The larger point is that I feel like Bryan Cranston should chill out...there are so many better things he could devote a couple of years of his life to than doing intense vocal training to play Applegate. It's actually probably more a lack of confidence than anything else."

I meant to respond to your 1st post on this thread, JereNYC, but it got away from me, sorry. I don't know if you watched the interview kieran provided - it is a little long, but I found it worth the time. In it, Cranston expresses his clear desire to play Applegate, even though it scares him. Especially because it scares him. It wasn't the 1st time he's said that, nor was it the most recent. I think he will do it, and I think he will be great. He's gone on record saying he wants to perform on stage every few years.

If he want to venture beyond his comfort zone, it's the kind of vanity project (for lack of a better term) that I'd be all in for. He is a rare actor in that he plays comedy or drama will equal expertise and has the ability to adjust from stage to screen. He is confident in his strengths and aware of his weaknesses.

I've worked with Cranston a few times. He is a consummate professional and a darling man. I'll see him in anything.
