I’ve seen a well-performed regional production, and I agree—there’s something that doesn’t quite gel on stage in BIG FISH.
But for me, anyway, it’s a score I love and play often. “Time Stops,” “Daffodils,” “Be the Hero,” “Stranger,” “What’s Next?” and “How It Ends,” all move me deeply. I don’t think it’s a successful show, as a whole (at least not what I witnessed). But those songs work magic on me.
