| Steam whistles gathered in numbers outside the Lunt-Fontanne today to protest for greater employment opportunities. "There are not many great parts for factory whistles," tooted their chief representative, "And we feel the loss of every chance to terrify an audience." "God, I'm a whistle," insisted Cassie, who used to star but had decided to try for a minor chorus part, "A whistle whistles! ... All I ever needed/ was a Sweeney / And a fact'ry / And the dream / To scream / For you!" Representatives of the show dismissed the protest. "They're just letting off steam," said a spokesperson. |
