Thank you barna99 for an insightful review. I saw it tonight and agree with 90% of your comments....great sets, lighting, some good acting, etc.
However, I thought Burnap was miscast. This show has no rousing opening production numbers, only Burnap being asked to grab the audience's attention from the start. He does not have the voice or personality to pull that off.
And so, Camelot doesn't become boring. It's boring right out of the gate.
Soo needs more miking. A beautiful but weak voice.
I can't imagine that NY will ever see another revival of this. |
