Thinking that an writing an original score is equivalent to writing new orchestrations is an odd choice..

To then give the award for best original score to a show that used someone's back catalogue of songs and was never intended to be used in a stage show is just downright bizarre.

It was obvious it would win best musical though.

That music/score/orchestrations category is ridiculous every year. Whoever dreamed it up is completely clueless about music. Most years they end up with the equivalent of nominating a satsuma, a pear, and an apple for an award for best banana.
