| All conjecture, of course, but I wouldn't say that Daniels was favored over Cranston. 2019's Drama Desk Award, which might have been an indicator, went to Jay O. Sanders. Also, "Network" closed just before the Tony Awards were held, so the voters all had more than enough time to see it. I don't know if its having closed serves your point as clearly as the other two examples you cite. |
