It's a shame that Berkeley never won for his Dance Direction (a short-lived category in the '30s) or got an Oscar for Lifetime Achievement.
I'd love to see a biopic about him, but what kind of budget would an indie pic need to re-create his over-the-top, giant production numbers?
And who would re-create them? I'd vote for Christopher Gattelli, who continues to do dazzling work on Season 2 of ''Schmiagadoon!''
