Emblematic of the wrong-headedness and thoughtlessness of this production is when the Round Table finally shows up, it’s rectangular.

By removing all the magic from the story, they’ve excised all the magic of the original musical. The three leads are left stranded by ridiculous decisions by all behind the scenes.

Having said that, Philippa Soo is glorious in the role of Jenny. But Mr. Sher has left her adrift at sea.Just a note to the creatives of future musical revivals. Don’t let Aaron Sorkin destroy your book.

Gotta disagree about Soo. I *loved* her in Great Comet and Hamilton, but I found that, especially in act one, I found her to be... well... not good. Very talented. But I did not think she was good in this show in act one. Act two she got better. But sorry to say, glorious isn't the word I'd use. (besides the common, and i found to be not unearned criticism that she often sings very softly in this role, and it's odd)

That isn't the Round Table. It's just a table. And a fairly small one. The location in the program is listed as "Castle corridor." I'm guessing they specifically chose a rectangular table to make it clear it wasn't the Round Table (which is as much metaphor as not).

I thought it was a beautifully directed production. You may disagree, but to call the direction "thoughtless" is just wrong.
