Went to St James to pick up my lottery mat tickets for today's mat. There was a long line. Most people were purchasing rush tickets for today's performance. I was checking the seats they were getting and they were orch starts to the side. When I got to the window I was told I have to pick up lottery ticket at noon. Meanwhile all the rush tickets ($30) where being purchase when box office opened. Sorry I didn't go for rush tickets

If you are going to go to the theater anyway, then Rush is the way to go. For many shows, you can get Rush seats any time up until show time. The only places I have not succeeded there are Sweeney and MJ. I don't recommend showing up at those shows, hoping for tickets.

NYNY lottery is through SeatGeek, which sends the tickets directly to your app and is the easiest of all system out there.

If you were looking to get the tickets to hand off to someone else, then SeatGeek even has methodology within the app to transfer tickets to someone else and they go directly into their app - no box office or trip to the theater required.

With all that said, I'm a huge fan of RUSH at the box office - especially, if you are a single, to get the best value (good and cheap) seats and no fees.
