In the original, it's mostly heard under dialogue, sung offstage, and not especially audible. The filmed Harris revival, IIRC, made it a bit more audible, so that is an option. It is a gorgeous song, of course, and it's always been odd that it was reportedly almost inaudible back in 1960, covered by dialogue.
